When He Died

When Jesus died
It was my sin that pierced His hands and His side
The day iniquity and suffering and pride
Of all mankind was crucified

When Jesus prayed
He could’ve cursed this angry world but forgave
That all who call upon His name would be saved
And through Him find eternal life

He took upon Himself the guilt that was mine
As the Lamb was sacrified
Heaven’s veil was opened wide

As I realize Why Jesus died
